Undress AI: the category, the tools and the limits

Search behaviour drives the naming. The same service is presented as an undress AI, a nudify app, a clothes remover and a deepnude tool depending on which term the market it is selling into types into a search box. Our catalogue treats them as one category because the pipeline is one pipeline, and splitting the reviews by marketing term would produce four copies of the same ranking.

The practical consequence for a reader is that a comparison written around one of these terms and a comparison written around another should reach the same conclusions. Where they do not, one of them is ranking by commission rather than by testing.

Interface quality is the first real difference. Some services give you a brush, a feather radius and an undo history. Others give you an upload button and a result. On an easy frontal photograph the outputs are comparable; on anything with an occlusion, the tool without controls has no way to recover.

The second difference is what the free tier is for. In some services it is a genuine sample of the product at reduced size. In others it is deliberately degraded to make the paid tier look better than it is, and the honest way to describe that is a demonstration rather than a trial.

The third is transparency. A provider that publishes a retention window, a support channel with a stated response time and a clear price list is easier to score than one that publishes a landing page and a payment form. Roughly half the catalogue falls into the second group, and their marks on privacy and support reflect it rather than punishing them arbitrarily.

Find the retention statement before you upload anything. It should give a period in hours or days and say whether deletion is automatic or on request. If the privacy page says only that data is held as long as necessary, treat that as an open-ended period.

Find the price list and check whether it is per image or per period. Several tools in the catalogue sell credits whose per-image cost changes with the bundle size, which makes a headline price meaningless without the bundle it came from.

Find out whether a support channel exists at all. In our tests, a working contact address with a human answering it was rarer than a polished landing page, and it is the criterion on which the lowest-scoring tools in the catalogue lose most of their points.
